Every business knows that advertising is a crucial way to find new customers. And airports are no exception.
But you don’t often hear about airports taking on new marketing specialists to focus on advancing their promotional efforts to their customers. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen though – it just means you don’t always get to hear about it.
But the Manchester Airports Group has recently taken on a company to make sure they are looking ahead to promotional opportunities of all kinds. This group is responsible for Manchester Airport as well as a few other airports. The company they have chosen is called Fox Kalomaski. This is a London agency so it isn’t local to the airport, but it clearly delivered just the right pitch to win the job.
So can we expect to see new and different adverts of all kinds promoting the services and flights out of Manchester Airport in the near future?
It would appear that we can. And the Manchester Airports Group is clearly delighted with its new partnership. Sarah Barrett is their head of customer experience, and she seems pleased with this new development. She had this to say about the current business climate, and also about what to expect in the future: “Looking forward, although prevailing market conditions continue to provide us with a challenging environment, there will be significant growth as markets recover and we are positioning ourselves to take full advantage of those opportunities.” She then went on to add, “We have and will continue to invest in improving the passenger experience across our four airports.”
Clearly this new alliance is going to benefit their other airports as much as it will benefit Manchester Airport itself. It will be interesting to see how this relationship develops as the first results of the new advertising come to be seen.
Fox Kalomaski has an impressive website that sells their services very well indeed. Even if you haven’t heard of them before, you will no doubt be familiar with many of the brands they cater for. It would seem that Manchester Airports Group isn’t the only big name in their stable – with Butlins, B&Q and M&S there as well. They also handle advertising for other familiar clients in the flying world, namely Lufthansa and Air New Zealand.
Manchester Airport could soon be participating in the push to take advantage of social media methods as well. This will result in many more people becoming more familiar with the routes that Manchester Airport (and the other airports in that group) serve.
Whether the new partnership will have the desired effects remains to be seen. But it should be said that Fox Kalomaski has plenty of experience in all forms of promotion and marketing. That bodes well for Manchester Airport, as it has a new Terminal One to make the most of. Highlighting the brand new terminal will no doubt reap the benefits that the airport group is looking for.
Be prepared for eye catching advertising to reach you very soon.
